Hey, I'm Jenn and I am a 21 year old female whose pursuit of her passion has led her to become a business owner before reaching the legal drinking age. I love skiing, swimming, hiking, computers, reading, and chocolate and all of them (except perhaps reading) are even better when shared with a group of friends.
I am actively involved in my church, Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, as well as the Howard Payne Baptist Student Ministries (BSM), where I was the BSM Drama co-leader for the 2007-2008 school year. I am passionate about being the best in everything, sometimes to the point of being a little too competitive, driving me to continually improve myself and my skills.
I am enrolled at Howard Payne University where I am on track to graduate on time in May of 2010 and have so far gotten a 4.0 in all my Howard Payne classes. Before Howard Payne, I was at New Braunfels High School, where I graduated 9th out of 400 students, while taking night classes in American Sign Language at San Antonio College. I became interested in website design and digital advertising after taking a web design class my senior year at New Braunfels High School and decided to pursue it as a career Christmas break my first year of college.
In addition to building websites, I have been a self-employed babysitter since before I was 12 and I also do other odd jobs such as dog-watching. Summer 2007 I was employed as a full time nanny and in the two summers before that I worked at Schlitterbahn, leaving in good standing to begin school at Howard Payne. During the school year, I work for the Howard Payne CIS Computer Lab, where I began in August of 2007 and was promoted to CIS Lab Supervisor beginning August 2008, a position I currently hold.
Summer 2008 I am "took some time off" meaning that instead of working or going to school I helped my mom take care of my grandmother (who has Alzheimers) and grandfather (who has mild dementia) as well as focusing on my company by getting this site up and running and recruiting some new clients. When I got back to Brownwood, I spent the first two months of school as the IT intern for Wes-Tex, one of the top five business cards produces in the nation.
Summer 2009 has been spent monitoring the computer lab at school and helping to get the nearly 100 new computers set up and ready for the new school year. Now that school has started back up and is in full swing, I am just managing the lab, tutoring clients, working on websites, and keeping up with homework ... all while trying to see my friends once in a while. |
